Actually, most third-party CD caches work better, but take up 4-5 times
as much base memory, which isn't an option for those with a ton of other
drivers loading at startup. I switched from CD Lightning for this very
reason.

The DOS 6.2 Smartdrv will indeed cache CD-ROM drives.

However, will it cache compressed drives? I use Stacker and can't get
Smartdrv to recognize those as independent drives.
