I purchased a refurb, or return SONY CDU31A-02 to go with my Logitech Soundman games card. The CD player did not have any docs with it, but the seller states these units work and test good. (read on) I found a cable for the 'main interface' and connected it to my system. I was able to download a copy of the latest driver from Compuserve. (SLCD 1.7A) What is that "sub interface" anyway? Not having any instructions I used a simple 'device=c:\dos\slcd.sys' on my config.sys file. That seems to work, the driver doesn't complain about the drive, the read lamp comes on during boot and when I load a CD. Next I can't get the MSCDEX driver to recognize the cd player or driver, and I'd like the system to look at the drive as a DOS disk or a CD player (or both!). I don't have any docs for mscdex.exe so that much is only guess work. If you can suggest a procedure please contact me. If there is another newsgroup I should post to, please advise. Any help is appreciated. Many thanks in advance. William Stewart (:P) Internet: wstewart@asic.mtv.nec.com Compuserve: 73762,2152
