I just got one, the 3Xi and its awesome....  but I con not compare it to a 2X oreven a 1X because this is my first CD rom.  We'll  I think it is very good and fast.  This coming week I will be installing Linux from the CD rom and will be able to tell you how much faster it is than from regular floppys  I think it should leave the floppy drives in the dust!!
