I'm also in the market and I read quite a lot of messages on Compuserve
and articles in USENET about NEC 3X. I read more bad things than good
things about the drive.

I read on CI$ that drives with version 2.2 firmware have problems.
I'm not sure what firmware means but maybe program in ROM or something.
Does anyone know whether 3Xp drives with version 2.2 firmware
are still around in market?
