Well, most people view Brittannica as the "Encyclopaedia of Encyclopedias" so 
and the cd version is the complete text of the 32 volume set, so you decide.

Seriously, I don't have $1000 to spend on it to check, but I'd say it is worth 
it if you can afford it.  I already have a "printed version" and can't see the 
need (at present) to spend the money for a cd version as well.
